During a news conference with Russian President Dmitry Medevdev, Berlusconi first said that Russians could work with the Obama before inexplicably turning to the Democrat's physical attributes, reports Reuters.

"I don't see problems for Medvedev to establish good relations with Obama who is also handsome, young and suntanned," he said.

Reuters noted that Berlusconi himself appears tan year-round.

Italian politicians have flattered Obama before. Berlusconi and his center-right party recaptured Parliament in April elections in a campaign that featured a logo and a slogan reminiscent of Obama's. Berlusconi's logo was round with stripes, just like Obama's rising sun logo, and his opponent's slogan was "Si Puo Fare!" which translates to "Yes We Can!"
