Liberal bloggers are rallying behind Darcy Burner, the Democratic challenger to Rep. Dave ReichertDavid (Dave) George ReichertWashington Rep. Kim Schrier wins primary Mail ballot surge places Postal Service under spotlight Bottom Line MORE (R-Wash.), after her house burned down Tuesday.

"The tragedy has obviously upended her life, and she's struggling right now to put all the pieces back together," wrote Markos Moulitsas on Daily Kos in a plea for more campaign contributions for Burner. "As such, she now faces a dilemma -- the more time she dedicates to dealing with her personal affairs, the less time she has to campaign and raise money."

Burner has become a sensation among liberal activists online for her staunch opposition to the Iraq war and telecom immunity. As of Wednesday morning, she had raised $250,000 on ActBlue.com, the online fundraising site for Democratic candidates. By Thursday afternoon, she was up to more than $336,000.

"Darcy will be someone who will be there for us when she's in Congress," Moulitsas wrote. "Now's our chance to be there for her during these horrible, trying times. "
