Musgrove has a 48 percent to 40 percent lead over Wicker, who was appointed to succeed former Sen. Trent Lott (R) earlier this year.

DSCC spokesman Matthew Miller noted that Republicans lost Wicker's former House seat last week, when Democrat Travis Childers defeated Republican Greg Davis.
