Watching fellow lawmakers blast the stimulus bill is even more painful than getting a cavity filled, one Democratic lawmaker said Monday.

"Had a cavity filled this PM. As [the dentist] drilled, I watched colleagues on TV blast the economic recovery plan," Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) tweeted Monday afternoon.

"The drilling was less painful," the congressman dryly added.

Israel voted in favor of the stimulus package when it passed the House on January 28. The package has come under criticism from many Republicans, none of whom supported the $819 billion legislation when it came up for a vote in the House.
