Our policy towards Iraq has never been more two-headed.  On one hand, the Administration continues to ask our troops to serve and sacrifice on behalf of Iraq’s fledgling government.  On the other, the leadership of the Iraqi government openly embraces the President of Iran, a country our own intelligence agencies tell us may be aiding those attacking and killing our troops in Iraq.  This sends a terrible message to the families of our troops that we are supporting an Iraqi government that fails to appreciate the sacrifices that have been made on its behalf by the American people, the troops in the field, and their loved ones.  The White House needs to work with Congress to construct a reasonable long term security agreement with Iraq that address Iraq’s relations with Iran.
