Pelosi and other Democrats were criticizing the GOP's decision to try passing small funding bills for the federal government, instead of passing the Senate's comprehensive spending resolution.

Tonight, the House was hoping to pass bills funding national parks, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Washington DC government, and send them to the Senate.

But several Democrats surmised that Republicans were feeling pressure about the shutdown today, and trying to fund key parts of the government to relieve that pressure. But Pelosi and others said Democrats should vote against it.

"This isn't about the parks. They're using the parks as a pawn. This is about defunding the Affordable Care Act," she said.

The latest GOP proposal for a continuing resolution would fund the entire government, but require a delay in the individual insurance mandate under ObamaCare.
