According to a police report cited by the Charleston City Paper, Ravenel, who stars in the reality show, “Southern Charm,” returned to his Palmetto State home on Friday night with his girlfriend, Kathryn Dennis. He then allegedly yelled that Dennis “needed to take care of” the couple’s sleeping infant.

The police report, filed by Lauren Moser, a caregiver who told police she is a friend of Dennis, says that the 52-year-old Senate candidate proceeded to slip and fall in a pool at the residence with the baby. The newspaper writes that Ravenel, whose father was former Rep. Arthur Ravenel Jr. (R-S.C.) and is considered a long shot against Graham, pulled the baby out of the pool and handed the child to his girlfriend.

Moser says she then started to record what happened next on her phone: “[Ravenel] swung the door hard (as to close it) when he cleared [the] doorway and it bounced off of the victim’s knee. The victim stated that when the offender saw that the door did not close he turned and swung the door again and this time the door struck the victim on the inside of the right arm due to the fact that her hand was raised because she was videoing the episode.”

The Charleston Police Department told the publication that Ravenel has not been arrested. His campaign did not return the local paper's request for comment.

Last week, Ravenel, a former GOP state treasurer who resigned after being indicted on drug trafficking charges, had told the same newspaper that he was quitting the Bravo reality series.
