Beyonce, Jay-Z surprise at Easter Egg Roll

The Easter Bunny faced some tough competition as Beyonce and Jay-Z surprised guests at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday.
The “Formation” singer — who sparked controversy last month after a politically charged Super Bowl halftime performance — was eyed among the 35,000 expected attendees at the festivities on the South Lawn.

Photos posted on Twitter show Beyonce sporting sunglasses and holding 4-year-old daughter Blue Ivy’s hand while getting up close with characters from “Sesame Street.”
The theme of this year’s egg roll at the White House is “Let’s Celebrate!” to mark the final Easter event for the Obamas.
Beyonce and Jay-Z have been outspoken supporters of President Obama and Michelle Obama. In 2011, she filmed a fitness-themed music video for the first lady’s “Let’s Move!” anti-childhood obesity initiative.
The songstress and rapper were not among the list of talent distributed by the White House — which included Broadway star Idina Menzel, singer Daya and Echosmith — poised to appear Monday.
Many Twitter users went wild at the news of the high-profile pair at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
