White House aides call Ivanka Trump ‘Princess Royal’: report

White House aides have reportedly given President Trump’s elder daughter a new nickname: “Princess Royal.”
According to Vanity Fair, aides have started calling Ivanka Trump the nickname behind her back in a jab at her prominence in her father’s administration.
The nickname began during the original backlash to a photo of Ivanka Trump sitting in for her father during the Group of 20 summit, the magazine reported, when critics were quick to point out their beliefs that being the president’s daughter does not qualify her to act as a head of state.
{mosads}“Excuse me,” a former adviser to President Trump reportedly said at the time. “This is not a royal family, and she’s not the princess royal.”
The White House defended President Trump for allowing his daughter to take his place.
“Ivanka was sitting in the back and then briefly joined the main table when the president had to step out,” the White House said in response to the photo.
