Maher said that the historic meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un did not result in anything of substance.

“All the critics are saying, and they’re right, that nothing really came of this,” Maher said. “It was two people, who lie about everything, who signed a deal that was specific about nothing.”

“I would say it was a feckless stunt,” he added.

The comment was a nod to Bee’s controversial remark earlier this month, when she called Trump's daughter Ivanka TrumpIvanka TrumpJill Biden takes starring role at difficult Olympics Trump to Pence on Jan. 6: 'You don't have the courage' Mary Trump: Ivanka 'much less likely to stay loyal' to father than Weisselberg MORE a “feckless c---“ for not standing up to her father on immigration. The controversial comment was met with widespread criticism, including from the White House.

President Trump met with Kim earlier this week in Singapore, the first meeting between a sitting U.S. president and a North Korean leader.

The two leaders signed a document committing the U.S. to unspecified “security guarantees” for North Korea in exchange for a denuclearized Korean Peninsula.

Critics from both parties have said that the deal is advantageous to North Korea and that Trump did not secure enough for the U.S. in return.
