Actress Connie Britton — who played a fictional Texas high school football coach’s wife in the TV series “Friday Night Lights,” — is teaming up with Planned Parenthood to release a limited-edition T-shirt aimed at raising support for abortion rights.

The outspoken “Nashville” entertainer starred as Tami Taylor in the show, which ended its run in 2011.

The front of the $22 and $32 shirts from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund reads, “WWTTD? What Would Tami Taylor Do?” while the back promotes the website StandWithTexasWomen.org.

The shirts come just days after Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis (D) made headlines following a 13-hour filibuster of a bill that would ban abortions in the Lone Star State after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The Republican-led measure failed after the deadline for a vote passed.

I have been inspired by how people around the country have united to stand with the women of Texas, and I can’t help but think that, in this moment, we all have the opportunity to join with and become strong, powerful Texas men and women.”

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), a supporter of the measure, has called a special legislative session to attempt to pass the bill again.
