Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) on Friday were seen enjoying cocktails with friends at nopa Kitchen + Bar, according to a spy.
The possible 2016 presidential contender and the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee chatted with Robert Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television, and Baltimore Orioles owner Peter Angelos.
Johnson and Angelos, two Democratic donors, stayed for about 1 1/2 hours and left at 7 p.m. O’Malley and McAuliffe, in town for the National Governors Association winter meeting, arrived at 6:30 p.m. and left around 7:30 p.m.
We’re not sure what O’Malley and McAuliffe talked about, but it likely wasn’t about a 2016 endorsement. McAuliffe, who is very close to Bill and Hillary Clinton, has made it known he will back the former first lady if she launches a 2016 bid for the White House.
