Ronan Farrow is admitting he has worn tinted contact lenses while also expressing exasperation that his eye-related decisions have gotten so much attention.
The MSNBC host made headlines recently when a New York Post report claimed he dons colored contacts to make his peepers a deeper, more vibrant shade of blue. The Drudge Report website linked to the article and showed photos of Farrow with different eye-color shades.
His mother, actress Mia Farrow, said in a 2013 interview that the 26-year-old’s father could possibly be “Ol’ Blue Eyes” himself, Frank Sinatra, and not Woody Allen.
ITK got to the bottom of the optic saga on Saturday, pressing Farrow at a White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner pre-party for the real deal with his eye color.
“Oh my gosh,” he said, sounding exasperated. "I tried contacts with a bright-handling tint on the front."
Speaking at a rapid pace, he continued, “I’m blind, I need to find them in the bowl. It’s ridiculous.”
He pointed his finger toward his eyes, which to ITK looked more like a greenish hazel than a clear-sky blue.
The “Ronan Farrow Daily” host quickly added, “What is true is that the gossip press is really, really hyper-focused on things that I think shouldn’t necessarily be the focus every, single day.”
He then politely excused himself from the eye-popping conversation, quickly making his way out of ITK’s line of sight.
A friend of Farrow said, "Ronan's eyes are naturally blue. The contacts don't alter the color at all."
