Their mugs have been splashed across tabloids everywhere, but one member of Congress says his staff had to brief him on reality television’s Kardashian clan.
On Tuesday, Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) tweeted to his more than 11,000 followers:
Staff has now informed me of what a Kardashian is. I'm only left with more questions.— John Dingell (@john_dingell) July 22, 2014
The 88-year-old retiring congressman’s tweet was prompted by a Monday post on Twitter by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water. The official account sent an auto-generated tweet promoting the “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” smartphone game. It was later deleted, with the agency writing:
Dingell had responded to the EPA’s Kardashian plug with:
I'm the last original author of the Clean Water Act, but I have no idea who/what a Kardashian is and I rarely play games. You OK, @EPAwater?— John Dingell (@john_dingell) July 22, 2014
