MSNBC host Alex Wagner will emcee the 71st annual Washington Press Club Foundation Congressional Dinner, ITK has learned.

The “NOW With Alex Wagner” host is a former White House correspondent for Politics Daily. She tied the knot with outgoing White House chef Sam Kass earlier this year.

The dinner — scheduled for February 4th of next year at Washington’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel — is considered to be the kick-off to Washington’s social season. A mix of lawmakers, media, and Capitol Hill-types typically attend the fundraiser, while congressional headliners do their best to yuk it up in front of the crowd with comedic remarks.

Past masters of ceremonies have included: CNN’s Brianna Keilar, CBS’ Major Garrett, and MSNBC host Chris Matthews.
