The show’s cold open drew laughs as Obama, played by Jay Pharoah, morphed into “The Rock Obama” during a meeting with cast members portraying Sen. “You like writing letter?” The Rock Obama asks the fictional Cotton, played by Kyle Mooney, referring to a letter GOP senators sent Iranian leaders warning a future president could overturn a nuclear agreement. “How you write letter with no hand?” the “Furious 7” star then asks, before tearing off Mooney’s hand.
SNL also introduced “She-Rock Obama.”
