Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, wrestling star Chris Melendez, “Forrest Gump” actor Gary Sinise, former “American Idol” winner Caleb Johnson, “Criminal Minds” star Joe Mantegna, Food Network celebrity chef Robert Irvine, and Miss America 2015 Kira Kazatsev are all headed to Washington to help mark Memorial Day in the nation’s capital.

The eclectic group of celebs is joining in on Monday’s National Memorial Day Parade along Constitution Avenue.

“Really it’s calling attention to the sacrifices of our military men and women throughout American history,” Tim Holbert, executive director of the American Veterans Center, which is celebrating its 10th year holding the event, tells ITK.

Melendez, a TNA Wrestling pro and military veteran who lost his leg while serving in Iraq, says, “This is a day for veterans of all generations, regardless of age, we’re together as brothers in arms.”

Asked if there are any Washington-types who could take him on in the wrestling ring while he’s in town, Melendez replies with a big laugh, “Not on their best day.”
