Senators bet on Vikings-Seahawks NFL playoff game

Senators from Washington and Minnesota are betting on an NFL playoff game as teams from their home states prepare to face off.
Minnesota Democratic Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken are going up against Washington Democratic Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell for a “friendly wager” on the NFL Wild Card game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks.
{mosads}If the Seahawks win, Murray and Cantwell get Caribou Coffee, which is headquartered in Minnesota, and walleye. If the Vikings come out on top, Klobuchar and Franken get coffee from Starbucks, which was founded in Seattle, and salmon.
Klobuchar—referring to the bet as the “‘salmon/walleye with a cup of java on the side’ Sunday showdown”—appeared confident that the Vikings, who won their first NFC North title since 2009, would be victorious.
“My Washington State Senate colleagues will soon learn that while we can’t ice fish for salmon in Minnesota, we like grilling it,” she added.
Cantwell, however, fired back that “it’s a shame my Minnesota colleagues won’t be able to savor Washington’s world-class salmon or brew some Starbucks coffee.”
The game is on Sunday. The two teams previously faced off in December, with the Seahawks beating the Vikings 38-7.
