‘White House’ up for sale
The 2016 presidential candidates don’t necessarily have to win the election to live in the White House — an executive mansion look-alike located just a few miles from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is up for grabs.
The $3.25 million property, 16 miles from President Obama’s current residence, is described in a real estate listing as a “one of a kind beautiful 14,000 square foot single family home” that’s “inspired by the White House architectural designs.” The extravagant digs in McLean, Va., hit the market last month.
Have a few state dinners to hold? No problem. The six-bedroom abode is “perfect for entertaining large and small gatherings” with an “immaculate detailed foyer to greet family and guests” and “beautiful marble floors throughout the main level and 11-foot ceilings.”
A realtor representing the original builder of the White House replica told The Washington Post in 2011 that the Vietnamese owner “wanted to pay tribute to America’s history and culture.”
The estate fit for a president comes equipped with an “Oval Office, formal rooms, chef’s kitchen, a gym, wine cellar, home theater, an elevator, a party room for 100 and six fireplaces,” according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.
If that’s not enough to wow “White House” guests, the realty website says an overnight stay in a famed room might do the trick, “Upstairs are hardwood floors, bedrooms and the special Lincoln bedroom and bath with marble floor and walls.”
