Basketball legend Charles Barkley is calling on the National Basketball Association to move its 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte to protest a North Carolina law that critics say discriminates against the LGBT community.

{mosads}The law bars states and counties from enacting anti-discrimination measures and mandates that transgender people use the bathrooms that match their biological sex.

“As a black person, I’m against any form of discrimination — against whites, Hispanics, gays, lesbians, however you want to phrase it, it’s my job, with the position of power that I’m in and being able to be on television, I’m supposed to stand up for the people who can’t stand up for themselves,” Barkley told CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield in an interview taped earlier this week.

In the wide-ranging interview, Barkley also said the presidential race made him “sad” and criticized the mudslinging between candidates.
