Don Lemon’s plan for WHCD: Drink a lot of water

“I was a bit overserved last year [at The Hill’s party],” the CNN host joked as he walked the red carpet of The Hill’s Friday night WHCA dinner party. “This year I’m going to try to not make that happen.”

“I just had a lot to drink last year and it was fun. Then I got to the White House Correspondents’ dinner the next day and I had ‘alcohol face.’

“I’m not going to not repeat it. My plan is to drink a lot of water.”

Lemon is most excited to hear President Obama’s comedic stylings at his last WHCA dinner.

“I’m excited to be here for the president’s last year doing this. Perfect comedic timing, he’s always hilarious. And I want to see what Larry Wilmore does.”

And when asked what Obama should do when he leaves the White House, Lemon’s response: “Whatever the hell — whatever The Hill he wants!

“He’s young. He’s got so much that he can do. He has an amazing wife and amazing family. I can’t wait to see how that family grows.”

Last year at the party, Lemon called himself "a WHCD virgin" – it was his first year attending as a guest instead of covering it, as he did the eight years prior.
