President Obama has no hard feelings about celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain being friends with right-wing rocker Ted Nugent, according to the New York Daily News

When Bourdain met with Obama in Vietnam two weeks ago, the CNN host revealed his friendship with the controversial rocker to the president.

{mosads}“I said, ‘Look, despite the fact that Ted Nugent and I disagree on absolutely everything, and about 98 percent of what comes out of his mouth is deeply offensive to me, it is a point of pride for me that I enjoy spending time with Ted Nugent,” Bourdain said he told Obama.

“We have barbecue in common and a few other things. Is that OK?” he asked the commander in chief.

Bourdain said Obama responded, “Absolutely.”

Nugent called Obama a “chimpass punk” in January and said he should be “tried for treason and hung” for his response to the terrorist attacks in Libya that killed four Americans.

“Considering the things that Ted Nugent has said about him, which are shameful and horrible, I admire that,” Bourdain said of Obama’s response.

Bourdain and Obama recently dined in Hanoi, Vietnam, for an episode of Bourdain’s travel and food show, “Parts Unknown.” The episode is set to air in September.
