Just as the pink ribbon symbolizes the fight against breast cancer and the yellow ribbon is utilized to support the troops, the group’s creators say the No More symbol is meant to raise awareness about and support against assault and domestic violence. Greene and the lawmakers will also announce the results of a new national study on young people and sexual assault.
Greene, who is appearing on behalf of the Avon Foundation for Women program, isn’t the only celeb in town who’s a fan of No More. “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” actress Mariska Hargitay is speaking Wednesday at the National Press Club in downtown Washington. The Emmy Award winner is the founder of the Joyful Heart Foundation, which works with survivors of sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence.
