Ivanka Trump reacts to accusations against father

Ivanka Trump responded to the series of sexual misconduct allegations against her father, saying she shrugs them off because she knows the real him.

{mosads}”The greatest comfort I have is the fact that I know my father. Most of the people who write about him don’t. I do,” she told Fast Company when asked about the allegations.

“So that gives me an ability to shrug off the things that I read about him that are wrong.”

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s elder daughter, who has taken an active role in stumping for her father on the campaign trail, said the last year has been a “surreal experience.”

Ivanka Trump also told Fast Company in a statement that she was offended by her father’s lewd comments in a 2005 tape that leaked earlier this month.

“My father’s comments were clearly inappropriate and offensive and I’m glad that he acknowledged this fact with an immediate apology to my family and the American people,” she said.

Despite the turbulent campaign, the interview noted that sales for Ivanka Trump’s fashion company were up $29.4 million in 2015, according to Forbes.

She dismissed the idea that she takes an active roll in advising her father on policy, claiming she is “a daughter and an executive who has worked alongside of him.”

But she is excited for the campaign to end in the coming weeks.

“I will say, I can’t wait till the election is over,” she said.
