Ellen DeGeneres is poised to be honored Tuesday at the White House for her career in comedy — that is, if she can get into the executive mansion.
The daytime talk show host says she’s been “locked out” of the White House after forgetting her identification.
DeGeneres tweeted to her more than 63 million followers a photo of her sitting alone on a bench outside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., with a bewildered gaze.
DeGeneres is one of more than 20 recipients of this year’s Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the country. Other honorees at the Tuesday afternoon ceremony include actor Robert De Niro, basketball great Michael Jordan, singer Diana Ross and Bruce Springsteen, among others.
