“Based on his racism? A racist as Person of the Year? I’m appalled, I’m appalled. I’m angry now that Time magazine would name this person Person of the Year. It’s incredible.”

Glover said the selection was a "slap in our face," pointing to the president-elect’s campaign promises.

“It’s the most disrespectful thing,” he said, citing Trump’s pledges to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and temporarily ban Muslims from the U.S.

Glover also said the opponents have to accept that Trump will be the president but should be prepared to fight him.

“Give him a chance? What? We know who he is. We know exactly who he is. We have to accept that. But we have to fight him every inch. We have to fight him every moment.”

Glover joined Sanders and Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the favorite to become the next Democratic National Committee chairman, for a rally Wednesday. They spoke to hundreds of striking workers, urging Trump to deliver on his promise of higher-paying jobs.

Time named Trump its Person of the Year Wednesday morning.

The magazine annually singles out one person or group of people that “for better or for worse ... has done the most to influence the events of the year."
