Paul Ryan proves he knows how to ‘dab’

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) proved to the audience at a CNN town hall Thursday night that he does know how to “dab.”

“You know, I actually do know what a dab is,” Ryan said.

A lawmaker’s teenage son dabbed as his family posed for a swearing-in photo with Ryan.

“He wasn’t doing a dab, by the way. It looked like he was sneezing,” Ryan said, adding a demonstration of the viral dance move.

After being sworn into the new Congress Tuesday, Rep. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) posed for a photo with his family and Ryan when the newly reelected Speaker stopped short as Marshall’s son raised his arm toward his face.

{mosads}The mid-photo pose, a move popularized by celebrities like Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and the rap group Migos, seemed to confuse Ryan.

Ryan can be heard in the video asking if the young man was all right.

“Do you want to put your hand down?” Ryan asks. “Are you going to sneeze?”

Ryan later patted him on the shoulder and said, “Don’t worry about it.”

Marshall tweeted later that day that his son had been grounded.
