A toy company is getting serious, saying it will now donate the profits from the sale of its President Trump action figure to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

The “Trump Over Re-Action Figure” was created by FCTRY last year following a Kickstarter campaign and has brought in nearly $200,000 so far. The company says the $20 Trump figure — which features removable hair, “Twitter-sized hands” and “sturdy and durable shoes for stepping on feelings” — was originally crafted as a way to mock the then-GOP presidential candidate.

“But the story took an unexpected twist when Trump took office,” one of FCTRY’s content strategists told ITK on Monday.

The company says it considered Trump the “villain” of the White House race, with designer Mike Leavitt saying, “I drew my inspiration for the Trump figure from Lex Luthor.”

“Following the election, sales surged, and it became clear that a growing number of customers were Trump supporters,” the company said in a news release.

“When the immigration ban went into effect, it became clear,” FCTRY founder Jason Feinberg wrote in a recent Medium post, “If we want to stand for something, we must take nothing.”

“So, as of today, we are giving 100% of the profits from our Trump Action Figures to the ACLU,” Feinberg wrote, adding that the company is seeking out other non-profit organizations “working to hinder the darkest parts of Trump’s agenda.”

The ACLU has received millions of dollars in donations since suing over the executive order Trump signed last month, which temporarily bars citizens and refugees from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States as well as temporarily suspending refugee entry.
