Ryan Murphy, producer of the hit television series "American Horror Story," said Wednesday that the next season of the show would be based on the 2016 presidential election.

Each season of the horror series focuses on a different storyline, all set somewhere in the United States. Murphy said on "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen that the next season would be based on the presidential election.

"I don't have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through. I think that will be interesting for a lot of people," he said.

When asked if he would cast someone to play President Trump, Murphy said, "Maybe."
