The ex-VP visited Capitol Hill on Wednesday to join Democrats rallying to try to save ObamaCare.

The dog’s owner, who declined to give her full name to BuzzFeed News after camping out for hours, told the site that Biden eyed the pup and gave her a wink, indicating the pair should approach him. That’s when he was introduced to the 4-month-old canine version of himself.

“As soon as I told him his name was Biden, he started kissing the dog, which is like exactly what I expected Biden would do,” the dog’s owner said.

“I named the dog Biden just because he is probably my favorite politician and favorite elected official,” she added.

But Biden the dog’s owner, who identified herself to The Hill as a Republican staffer, says despite naming her furry friend after the former veep, they’re not barking up the same political tree: “I really respect Joe Biden even though I don’t necessarily align with him politically.”
