The White House has unveiled Melania Trump’s first official portrait as first lady.

The 46-year-old former professional model is seen striking an assertive pose in the photograph released Monday. Sporting a black ensemble with her arms crossed, Trump looks directly into the camera with a slight smile, a large ring on each of her hands.

The photo was taken in the White House residence the day after the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration, ITK has learned. The photographer for the portrait was Regine Mahaux, according to a spokeswoman in the first lady's office.

The first lady and President Trump’s 10-year-old son, Barron, are currently living in New York. The White House has said the two will move into the 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in the coming months, after Barron finishes up the school year.

Melania Trump, a native of Slovenia, is the first foreign-born first lady since Louisa Adams, wife of former President John Quincy Adams.
