The professional wrestler who portrays WWE’s Kane launched a bid Tuesday to become mayor of his hometown.

“Because my career with WWE has taken me around the world on a weekly basis, my family and I could live pretty much anywhere in the U.S. we wanted,” Glenn Jacobs (R) said during his announcement speech in Knox County, Tenn.

“We live here because we want to live here, because we love it here. I want to do my part to make sure it remains a great place and that our future is even brighter than ever.”

Jacobs said he would focus on improving Knox County’s economy and education system if elected.

“A competitive, world-class workforce is crucial to our continued economic growth,” he said.

“Our kids should be equipped with every tool they need to excel in whatever area they choose.”

Jacobs is a former World Wrestling Entertainment world champion who has, at times, worn a demonic mask while competing as the character Kane.

The grappler filed paperwork to seek Knox County’s mayoral seat last month, targeting an election scheduled for May 1, 2018.

Incumbent Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett (R) is term-limited and cannot run again once he leaves office.

Linda McMahon, WWE’s former CEO and president, won confirmation in February to become President Trump’s small business administrator.

Trump repeatedly appeared in WWE programming before becoming president, even appearing at Wrestlemania 23 in Detroit in 2007.
