Melania Trump sends Pamela Anderson thank-you note for Russian faux furs
Pamela Anderson is sharing a note she says she received from Melania Trump that encourages “more women to stand up for their beliefs.”
The message from the first lady was a thank you for a gift Anderson had sent months earlier.
As ITK first reported, Anderson, a “Baywatch” alum and longtime animal rights activist, said in January that she intended to send Trump some Russian faux furs.
“I’m going to send her one of my Russian eco-fur coats as a gift because I’m designing furs in Russia right now,” Anderson said at an inaugural gala held by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
In Trump’s letter to Anderson, dated April 20 and shared by the actress on Wednesday, she wrote, “I am grateful for your support and encouraging words, they mean a great deal.”
“Together, we can empower more women to stand up for their beliefs,” wrote Trump, like Anderson a former model.

Some Twitter users remarked that Trump’s signature looked strikingly similar to her husband’s John Hancock.

PETA applauded Anderson’s gift, saying on Wednesday that Trump has been interested in fur-free fashion for years.
“Pamela Anderson sent elegant Melania a stylish faux fur, as well as a video showing how animals are cruelly killed in the wild and on fur farms, so it’s no surprise that she is now fur-free, following in the footsteps of so many fashion icons and First Ladies,” PETA senior vice president Dan Mathews said in a statement.
