Cornell’s Convocation Committee announced the vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips would be known as “Big Red, White, and Biden.”

“We are all excited to welcome former Vice President Biden in such a unique, authentic Cornell way,” convocation chairman Matthew Baumel told The Cornell Chronicle.

He added, "The collaboration across several Cornell departments to make this happen has been amazing.”

According to The Cornell Chronicle, 70 three-gallon tubs of Big Red, White, and Biden will be dished out during commencement weekend and at the Cornell Dairy Bar.

Students voted on a final flavor name in May, which was sent to Biden’s representatives for approval.

The other top contenders included: Bits n' Biden; Biden's Chocolate Bites; Uncle Joe's Chocolate Chip; and Not Your Average Joe's Chocolate Chip.

Biden is known for his love of the frozen dairy treat. In 2016 he kicked off a speech about the economy with, “My name is Joe Biden, and I love ice cream.”

The former vice president will deliver Cornell’s convocation address on Saturday.
