Rep. Brendan Boyle says Kid Rock may be serious about a political bid, but the performer “would be a horrible senator.”

“I’m going to go out on a limb and say Kid Rock really thinks about running,” the Pennsylvania Democrat said Monday on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Wrap-Up Show,” when asked his thoughts on whether the musician was sincerely considering jumping into politics.

“But he would be a horrible senator,” Boyle added.

Kid Rock, a vocal supporter of President Trump, hinted at a potential 2018 run last week, promoting a campaign website and merchandise bearing the message “Kid Rock for U.S. Senate.” In a message posted Thursday, the 46-year-old “All Summer Long” singer wrote that he had “15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the [Federal Election Commission]!”

Kid Rock is one of several entertainers who have flirted with trading Hollywood for Washington.

“I read now that Caitlyn Jenner is thinking of running, that The Rock is thinking of running,” Boyle said of the Olympic medal-winning reality TV personality and “Baywatch” star Dwayne Johnson.

“You do have this sort of merger between the celebrity world and politics, so it might actually be something we see more of in the future,” Boyle told hosts Gary Dell’Abate and Jon Hein.

“My concern is that we’re actually — and Howard [Stern] is always very complimentary of people in public service — we are kind of going too far in demonizing it,” he continued.
