‘X-Files’ stars tweet kneeling photo in support of NFL players

The stars of “The X-Files” are joining a growing number of entertainers who are “taking a knee” in support of NFL players protesting during the national anthem.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who star as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the rebooted Fox series, both tweeted an image of themselves kneeling side by side:

President Trump has called out NFL players who take a knee during “The Star-Spangled Banner,” tweeting on Monday that the NFL should instigate a “rule that you can’t kneel during our National Anthem!”
NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick started the movement last season to protest police misconduct and racial injustice.
The “X-Files” stars aren’t the only famous faces to take a knee. Members of the cast of “Star Trek: Discovery” tweeted a photo Sunday showing themselves kneeling. Singers Stevie Wonder and Dave Matthews also kneeled during a benefit concert in Charlottesville, Va., on Sunday.
