Ivana Trump joked Monday that she is the “first lady” because she was President Trump’s first wife.

Trump told "Good Morning America" that she has a direct phone line to the White House, but avoids calling too often because she doesn’t want to make first lady Melania Trump jealous.

"I have the direct number to White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there,” Trump said. "I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I'm basically first Trump wife.”

“I’m first lady, OK?" she said, laughing.

She added that she and President Trump speak about once every two weeks and that she encourages her ex-husband to tweet to get his message out directly to Americans.

ABC’s Amy Robach asked Trump how she would feel if her children insulted people on Twitter in the same way the president does.

“I think they sometimes call the people losers. If they are losers, they are losers, okay?” Trump replied. “And I don’t mind it.”

The couple got married in 1977 and divorced in 1992. She is the mother of Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric.

Trump revealed last week that the president had offered her the position of ambassador to the Czech Republic but she turned him down.
