Cast member Kate McKinnon, as Sessions, led the audience during the "Weekend Update" segment in a “I do not recall” call and response.

“When I say ‘I do not,’ you say ‘recall,’” McKinnon's Sessions said. “I do not.”

“Recall,” the audience yelled back.

"Weekend Update" anchor Colin Jost then pointed out that Sessions had said the phrase multiple times during the hearing.

“Well Colin, you know I had some memory problems stemming from a childhood trauma … the passing of the Civil Rights Act,” McKinnon's Sessions replied.

Jost then asked "Sessions" to answer a series of questions about recent reports, including if he had spoken with any Trump campaign staffers about Russia.

“I do not recall,” he said, before leaning forward and saying, “You know I recall.”

Sessions testified before the House Judiciary Committee last Tuesday.

He said then that he remembered having a meeting with George Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign adviser who has pleaded guilty to lying to investigators about Russian contacts.

But Sessions said he "had no recollection of the details" of the meeting with Papadopoulos.
