‘The West Wing’ cast hits Huckabee Sanders for comparing herself to character

Two members of the popular political drama "The West Wing" hit White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders after she compared herself to one of the show's most beloved characters.

Sanders tweeted two photos on Tuesday of the White House turkeys, which would later be pardoned, in her office.

"We had a surprise visitor in my office today and got to live a real life version of an episode of the 'West Wing,' " Sanders said on Twitter, referencing an episode of the show in which fictional White House press secretary C.J. Cregg was forced to contend with turkeys in her office.

One of the show's stars, Bradley Whitford, who played deputy White House chief of staff Josh Lyman, slammed Sanders on Twitter, saying she was no Cregg.

Allison Janney, who portrayed Cregg on the show, appeared to praise Whitford's tweet, saying "Thanks for having my back, Josh love,C.J."

This is not the first time a member of the show has hit the Trump administration.

Richard Schiff, who played White House communications director Toby Ziegler, told ITK earlier this month that he would tell President Trump to resign.

“You’re dealing with a cage-match wrestler, and the rest of us are in a boxing match where there are rules,” Schiff said.
