Britney Spears speaks out in support of Dreamers
Britney Spears is speaking out in support of recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
“We are all Dreamers,” Spears tweeted, along with a photo of her wearing a shirt that says the same.
“Tell Congress to pass the #DreamAct.”

President Trump earlier this year rescinded the DACA program. About 690,000 immigrants who came to the country illegally as children, known as “Dreamers,” depend on the program to live and work in the United States.
Trump left it up to Congress to find a legislative fix for recipients of the program but, after other priorities got in the way, Congress will not take up a DACA fix until at least January.
Last week, more than 40 entertainers called on top Democrats to uphold their promise to the young immigrants.
Democrats faced criticism from progressive groups for failing to secure legislative protections for DACA recipients in the year-end stopgap spending bill.
Hispanic Democrats in the House had attempted to rally Democrats in the Senate to vote against the year-end spending bill over the lack of protections for DACA recipients, but were unsuccessful in the late appeal.
