Britain's Prince Harry declined to say whether former President Obama would be invited to his wedding next year.

“I don’t know about that, we haven’t even put the invite or the guest list together, who knows if he’s going to be invited or not," he said while serving as a guest editor of the BBC Radio 4 news program, according to The Associated Press.

“I wouldn’t want to ruin that surprise.”

Harry also interviewed the former president in a segment that aired on the show.

The British prince announced last month his engagement to "Suits" actress Meghan Markle.

After the announcement, Obama congratulated the two.

"Michelle and I are delighted to congratulate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their engagement. We wish you a lifetime of joy and happiness together," he tweeted last month.

The Obamas have appeared frequently alongside the royal. Earlier this year, Prince Harry was on hand for the Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago. In September, the former president sat side by side with the prince at the Invictus Games in Toronto.

Obama also visited with Harry in May at Kensington Palace, and in 2015, Michelle Obama was pictured having tea with him during a trip to Europe.
