Rosie O’Donnell asks why female senator is ‘always frowning’

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell on Monday tweeted a photo of Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), asking why she was “always frowning.”

O’Donnell shared a photo of Murray, the assistant minority leader, sitting straight-faced behind Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) shorty before the Senate voted to end the government shutdown.

“Who is that woman and why is she always frowning,” O’Donnell tweeted.

Social media users were quick to point out that Murray is the third-ranking Democrat in the Senate and was elected as Washington’s first female senator in 1992.

{mosads}A temporary spending measure to end the shutdown was passed on a 81-18 vote Monday after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) promised to allow a vote on an immigration bill next month.

The comedian, who has donated more than $32,000 to the Democratic National Committee and other congressional campaigns, has a very long and public feud with President Trump lasting more than a decade.

O’Donnell frequently takes to Twitter to lash out against Republican lawmakers.
