Late night comedian Stephen Colbert on Wednesday ripped President TrumpDonald John TrumpGrassley: Dems 'withheld information' on new Kavanaugh allegation Health advocates decry funding transfer over migrant children Groups plan mass walkout in support of Kavanaugh accuser MORE's idea to hold a military parade in Washington, D.C.

"You gotta admit, he's one of a kind. No one comes up with dumber ideas. At this point, he's really his own competition. He's the Usain Bolt of stupid," Colbert said, referring to the world-record-holding Jamaican track star.

"His latest record-setting dumb: Trump told the Pentagon to plan a military parade," he continued, before bringing up a parody game called "Dictator Bingo."

The comedian's comments come after reports surfaced that Trump was exploring the idea of staging a large military parade in Washington, D.C., to honor the nation's troops and veterans.

The president has reportedly expressed his interest in a future military parade after watching France's Bastille Day Parade last summer.

“The marching orders were: I want a parade like the one in France,” a military official told The Washington Post. “This is being worked at the highest levels of the military.”

A White House official told the Post that the planning was still in the “brainstorming” stages and that there is “no meat on the bones” as of yet.
