Kathy Griffin to play Conway in Comedy Central show about Trump

“It’s true. I‘ll be on the @PresidentShow next Tuesday 11/10c and I’m going to play Kellyanne Conway. Can’t wait!” Griffin tweeted.

"The President Show" is a satirical program in which actors portray the president and other members of his administration in a late-night talk show format.

The cameo will be Griffin’s first television role since last May, when she posed in a photograph that depicted her holding President TrumpDonald John TrumpMark Kelly clinches Democratic Senate nod in Arizona Trump camp considering White House South Lawn for convention speech: reports Longtime Rep. Griffin was interviewed by the Secret Service over the photo shoot and was fired from her job of co-hosting CNN's New Year's Eve special.

“I think it’s important to lean into controversy, because I know so much more about it now,” Griffin told The New York Times of her upcoming appearance. “I think now enough time has passed where people are starting to see the ridiculousness of what happened to me, and they’re seeing other people that Trump has done it to.”

Griffin has begun reentering the spotlight since the photo shoot incident. She announced earlier this month that her upcoming show at Carnegie Hall sold out in one day. She will also attend next month's White House Correspondents' Association dinner as a guest, she said.
