Arnold Schwarzenegger is recovering after undergoing emergency open-heart surgery.

The office of California's former Republican governor said his first words upon reawakening after his operation were a reference to his catchphrase from the "Terminator" franchise:

Schwarzenegger originally went to a Los Angeles hospital on Thursday for a catheter valve replacement but “developed complications," according to TMZ, which was first to report the news.

As a result, the 70-year-old bodybuilder-turned-action star-turned-politician underwent an hours-long operation. He’s said to be in stable condition.

The “Predator” star has made headlines lately for his vocal opposition to partisan gerrymandering. In a Wednesday video statement, Schwarzenegger encouraged the Supreme Court to “make the right decision” on the issue, hours after it heard arguments on a Maryland redistricting case.

Schwarzenegger also championed redistricting reform while in office.
