Meryl Streep, fresh off her Oscar-nominated turn as former Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham, is reportedly set to star in a drama based on the scandal surrounding the leaking of the Panama Papers.

Steven Soderbergh will direct "The Laundromat," which is based on the book "Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation of Illicit Money Networks and the Global Elite," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Actors Gary Oldman and Antonio Banderas are in discussions to join the production, the Reporter said Monday.

Sources told the publication that streaming giant Netflix is interested in the production.

The movie will detail the leaked documents, which showed how Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca allowed wealthy firms and individuals to move money around the globe using shell companies.

The documents were leaked anonymously in 2015.

Streep recently starred in another political thriller about famously leaked documents, playing Graham in "The Post," which depicted the publication's effort to publish the Pentagon Papers, detailing devastating facts about the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.
