Musician John Legend and model Chrissy Teigen announced Thursday that they are donating $288,000 —  four $72,000 donations for each member of their family — to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in honor of President TrumpDonald John TrumpHR McMaster says president's policy to withdraw troops from Afghanistan is 'unwise' Cast of 'Parks and Rec' reunite for virtual town hall to address Wisconsin voters Biden says Trump should step down over coronavirus response MORE’s 72nd birthday.

“John and I are outraged to see and hear the horror stories of immigrant families seeking asylum and refuge in America being ripped apart due to the inhumane policies of the Trump administration,” Teigen tweeted Thursday.

“These actions are cruel, anti-family and go against everything we believe this country should represent," she added.

The Trump administration announced last month a zero-tolerance policy for prosecuting migrants crossing the border illegally. The policy leads to the separation of parents from their children while they are detained.

“On this auspicious occasion, in order to Make Trump’s Birthday Great Again, each member of our family has donated $72,000 to the ACLU,” she wrote in the Tweet on Thursday, Trump's 72nd birthday.

The couple have two children, Luna and Miles.

They chose the ACLU because the organization is “committed to defending the rights and humanity of these vulnerable families,” Teigen tweeted.

The nonprofit also advocates for reproductive rights, voting rights, criminal justice reform, LGBT rights and 1st amendment rights, she wrote.

Teigen and Legend have both been vocal critics of Trump since he launched his presidential campaign.

She feuded with him on Twitter in 2015 and Trump blocked her on the social media platform last year.

The pair also donated $25,000 to the March for Our Lives anti-gun violence rally in March.
