“F--- you, Melanie,” Griffin tweeted. “You know damn well your husband can end this immediately...you feckless complicit piece of s---.”

The first lady’s spokeswoman released a statement on Sunday saying that Trump opposes the administration’s policy of separating immigrant children from their parents at the border.

"Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform,” the statement read. “She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart.”

The Trump administration implemented a “zero tolerance” policy for border crossings earlier this year, prosecuting all adults apprehended illegally entering the country.

Migrant children and adults are separated under the policy, which has been widely criticized.
