A message purporting to be from a Sacha Baron Cohen character on his new Showtime series is firing back at Sarah Palin, saying she's been "hit by a bullshit grenade" and is "bleedin' fake news."

The tweet from "Billy Wayne Ruddick" was posted Thursday, with a note for "Vice President Palin” following her complaints about being misled by Baron Cohen.

Ruddick is the same name of a character comedian Baron Cohen reportedly plays in his forthcoming show "Who is America?" which premieres on Sunday. Palin, a 2008 vice presidential nominee, says she was duped into participating in an interview for the satirical show after Baron Cohen pretended to be a military veteran.

In the Twitter message, the fictional character says he was "in the service — not military, but United Parcel."

“Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long ‘interview’ full of Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm — but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin,” Palin told The Daily Mail earlier this week.

“The disrespect of our U.S. military and middle-class Americans via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse,” she added, calling on Baron Cohen, Showtime, and CBS to donate any profits from the program to veterans' organizations.

Showtime didn't respond to ITK's request for comment about Thursday's tweet.
