Hillary Clinton gets standing ovation at Broadway production of 'Hello, Dolly!'

Video shows members of the audience standing and cheering as Clinton entered the theater for the performance on Thursday night.


Broadway star Bette Midler, who is performing in the production, tweeted that Clinton attended the show and posted a picture of the two women backstage.

“It made us all unbelievably happy to see her,” the Tony Award winner tweeted.



Clinton also tweeted about the experience, calling it "a joyful night."

This isn’t the first time Clinton has gotten a standing ovation from a Broadway crowd: She’s earned similar receptions at productions of “The Color Purple” and “Sunset Boulevard."
